Who am I?
I'm the human behind Awkward Octopus Productions LLC. I'm on a mission to make science a verb in science classrooms everywhere!
Growing up on a family farm, I learned about nature from my father and developed a deep love for science.
But I didn't always have positive experiences with science education in school, and I know that many students aren't lucky enough to have those same experiences outside of the classroom. That's why I founded Awkward Octopus Productions -- to help teachers create meaningful and engaging science experiences for their students.
What is Making Science A Verb™️?
The Making Science A Verb™️ coaching program came into existance based on my own experiences as a science teacher. I was frustrated with school provided professional development that:
Didn't provide me with ongoing support
Didn't help me manage my time so I didn't get overwhelmed
Wasn't what I needed at the time--provided skills I already knew or I wasn't yet ready for
